Untreated Dirty Boiler |
Clean Treated Boiler |
Our performance chemical additives are applied to help control slag and high temperature corrosion, reduce acid and particulate emissions, and improve overall system efficiency and longevity. Some of the chemical types used to treat residual oil, coal, pet coke, wastes, and other fuels include:
• Stabilized Magnesium Hydroxide Dispersions
• Ultra-fine, Reactive Organo-metallic Complexes
• Fine Solutions of Magnesium Sulfonate
• Reactive Magnesium Oxide Dispersions
• Pure Magnesium Oxide and Hydroxide Powders
These additives are used individually, or sometimes in a co-treatment strategy major U.S. utility and industrial boilers. With over 20 years experience in treating a diverse range of fuels, some of the benefits realized from fuel treatment program include:
• Longer Run Time on units between cleaning
• Reduced cleaning time and maintenance
• Reduced high temperature corrosion/fouling
• Neutralization of acids on cool surfaces
• Improve plume appearance (reduced VE's) |
 |
Service Specialization:
• Coal-Fired Utilities
• Oil-Fired Utilities
• Industrial Boilers
• Research and Development |

Advanced Injection Systems
• Turnkey "Handes-Free" Systems
• Customized for Site Requirements
• High Reliability with Flow Monitoring
• Low Maintenance/Spare Parts in stock |
 |
|
Our advanced injection systems provide accurate and reliable dosage rate control of fuel oil additives and/or catalysts, allowing optimal treatment of the boier
Fuel additive injection systems are turnkey and "hands-free" to the client. They are installed on site, with all electrical and services, injection lines, and signal/network integration performed by an experienced team. The systems are designed for low maintenance and spare parts requirements |
Testing/Technical Support
• Specialized tests for SO3, Acid Deposition, Gas Analysis
• Documentation in Technical Reports
• Fuel Quality Analysis/Trending
• High Temperature Deposit Analysis |
 |
|
As an integral part of a fuel treatment service program, we conduct specialty tests to help optimize the application of its fuel additives. This diagnostic testing is used to establish a database for a range of operational conditions and optimization of fuel additives for various process changes |
Specialty Testing Services
On-Site, Continuous, Accurate and Reliable Monitoring of SO3 (Sulfur Trioxide)
• On-Line, quick and simple
• Sound, proven methodology
• 0.5 to 100+ ppm range
• Precise caligration
• Oil, orimulsion, cole, pet-coke
Our experience with SO3 monitoring spans over eighteen years, on hundreds of boilers, industrial processes and programd around the world. |
|
Our capabilities for SO3 include simultaneous monitoring at multiple test planes, stratification testing, and high temperature monitoring using special probes. Concurrent measurement of other critical gas parameters are also provided by EES on request. |
 |
| The wet chemical methodology of the SSI SO3 analyzer is widely accepted, and has been shown to be as accurate as conventional batch method(s), including the CCM. |
|
Some application examples of continuous high accuracy SO3 monitoring include:
• Plume (Acid) Assessment
• ESP, FGC & Scrubber Performance/Optimization
• Air Heater Corrosian & Efficiency Studies
• Environmental Impact of Alternative Fuels
Specialty Testing Services
On-Site, Continuous, Accurate and Reliable Monitoring of . . .
Particulate (PM) HF and HCI Gases
Continuous Particulate Monitoring
with an advanced electro-optics analyzer system which provides non-extractive mass concentration measurements, simply and reliably, in a wide range of applications.
HCI and HF
monitoring for utilities, incinerators, and industrial plants, using ion selective electrode (ISE) methodology. The analyzers are transportable.
